General Notes: Husband - John Billhymer

He was probably born in Virginia, where, after attaining his majority, he farmed extensively for years. He married a woman of that locality, but she died about 1814, and shortly afterward Mr. Billhymer went to Uniontown, Pennsylvania, to visit his sister, Mrs. Mary Showalter, from whence he went to the vicinity of Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County, and met and married there his second wife, and he finally settled near Ruffsdale.
In 1852 Mr. Billhymer, accompanied by his wife and two of his daughters-Rachel and Eliza-moved to the vicinity of Clarksville, Iowa, where the daughters subsequently married.
