General Notes: Husband - H. E. Bish

He received his education in the public schools of Butler County, Pennsylvania, after which he went into the oil business with his father, and continued with him until October 13, 1917, when he enlisted in the United States Army and was sent to Kelly Field, Fort Sam Houston, and assigned to the Air Service. He remained there until he was sent to Houston, Texas, at Ellington Field, and was assigned to assembling and building an air base. He was attached to the One Hundred and Twentieth Aero Pursuit Squadron and went to France. He was with this outfit the entire duration of the war. He was a sergeant, first class. Mr. Bish was mustered out of service May 16, 1919, and returned to his home, where he established a road service garage in Butler known as Bish's Garage, located on East Cunningham Street. He formed a partnership a little later with Mr. Forrester and the business was moved to South Main Street. The partnership was dissolved in February, 1926, when Mr. Bish took the agency for the Hupmobile and Marmon cars, and conducted the business until his death, when he was killed in an automobile accident, being struck by a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad train. Mr. Forrester had charge of the service department and Mr. Bish the sales department. Each was conducted independently of the other.
Mr. Bish was a Republican and belonged to the Knights of Pythias, Pittsburgh Aero Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Butler County Automobile Dealers Association. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.
