General Notes: Husband - [Ancestor] Bishop

The Bishops originally came from Germany. Some went to France, where they were called "Le Veque," which means the bishop; later they went to England, where the name was Anglicized and called "Levick." Others of the family came from Germany to America and settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where they engaged in agriculture and became representative members of the community. They were members of the Lutheran Church.
