They left Ireland in 1828, coming by way of Canada and settling in western Pennsylvania. Their first location was in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County, whence they removed the following year to a place in Butler County near the borough of Emlenton. He met an accidental death when sixty years old, being fatally injured by a horse.
