General Notes: Husband - Thomas Martin


He was born on the ocean while his parents were on the voyage from Ireland to this country, and passed his life in Venango County, Pennsylvania, reaching an advanced age. He was a well-to-do farmer and was actively associated with the township government, holding the offices of constable and collector, and exerted considerable influence in his neighborhood. [HVC 1919, 1018]
Another source states that he was born in French Creek Twp, Venango County, Pennsylvania.
The cemetery book gives the year of his death as 1888.

Eleven children were born to his marriage, six sons and five daughters, most of whom lived past middle age.

Her maternal ancestors were among the early settlers of Butler County, PA.
