General Notes: Husband - Robert Boardman

He was born at Oil City, and was educated in the public schools there. He served an apprenticeship to the machinist’s trade in his father’s shop, where he remained ten years, later spending three years in the West, two as an employe of the Baker Iron Works, Los Angeles, CA, and one year in the shop of the Forrest Oil Company at Neodesha, KS. On his return East he was with the Oil Well Supply Company at Pittsburgh for two years, at the end of that time coming back to Oil City and entering into partnership with his father, with whom he was associated until the latter’s death. When the company was incorporated, subsequently, he became treasurer, succeeding Mr. Lee, who was the first to hold that office in the new organization, and later became president and general manager.
