General Notes: Husband - Martin Herman


He was born in Germany, and when a young man immigrated to America, landing in Philadelphia in 1754, where he remained a few years; then moved to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania - a part that later became Lebanon - where he married and engaged in farming until 1771, when he purchased purchased a tract of land near where the village of New Kingstown now stands, in Silver Spring Township, Cumberland County, where he died, aged seventy-two years. He and his wife were members of the Lutheran Church.
He and his wife had four sons and four daughters.

A native of Germany, he landed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, July 2, 1752, and on the 15th of April, 1771, settled on a tract of land called "St. Martin's," in Silver Spring Township, Cumberland County, and this land, where he lived and died, was in possession of his descendants for one hundred and fifteen years.
