General Notes: Husband - Dr. David Marchand

He was the progenitor of the Greensburg, Pennsylvania, branch of the family. He was a man of spotless reputation and a physician with few equals. He was prominent in politics and was twice sent to congress. In the War of 1812 Governor Snyder, of Pennsylvania, appointed him major general of militia and he was given command of the thirteenth division of the state troops from 1812 to 1814.
