General Notes: Husband - Andrew Borland




He was born in Peters township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and grew to manhood on the home farm there. He passed the first years of his married life in Peters township, and afterward made a permanent home in South Strabane township. He was a successful business man; in politics he was a stanch Democrat, and was frequently elected to county offices by his party. In religious faith he was a leading member of the United Presbyterian Church. [CBRWC, 1034]

He emigrated from County Antrim, Ireland, to the United States at an early day and settled on Brush run, Peters township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. He followed farming during his manhood on the old Borland place, with the exception of about six years. He resided on the old place until 1856, when he moved to Clokey, where he died.
