General Notes: Husband - Andrew Bowman


He was born at Hagerstown, Maryland, and came to a farm in Franklin township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, with his parents when he was but two years old. He attended the subscription schools and was first a Democrat in politics, then a Whig and afterwards a staunch Republican. He was a member of the Disciple church from 1844 until his death.
