General Notes: Husband - James Emmet Bowser

He was four years of age at the time of his parents' removal from Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, to Clarion County, and he was educated in the district schools of Madison township. He remained on the paternal farm until he had reached his eighteenth year, when he left home and worked in a saw mill at Rimersburg for the ensuing six years. In the spring of 1907 he bought a farm of one hundred and fifty-one acres in Toby township, the same being located one-half a mile distant from Huey. He devoted most of his attention to general farming and the raising of Percheron horses and occasionally he did some sawing. He maintained an independent attitude in his political convictions, and in religion he and his wife were both zealous members of the Baptist church.
