General Notes: Husband - Lawson E. Brackney


He was born on the homestead in Clay township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, was reared on the farm, and attended the common schools of his district. He went to Parker's Landing in 1870, and became a tool dresser and driller, and in 1880 began operating in the Washington township field. He afterwards operated several years in the Bradford field, coming to the borough of Butler in 1886, after which time he was engaged in oil produc-ing in the Glade Run field. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and in politics, he was a Democrat. He was connected with Ziegler Lodge, I. O. O. F., and the Uniform Rank, K. of P.
