General Notes: Husband - John Bricker

He was educated in the common schools, and in 1855 entered the service of the Pennsylvania railroad, occupying various positions, including that of engineer, until 1864. He retained the post of engineer until 1883, when he severed his connection with the railroad and became engineer for the Penn Gas Coal Company on the Youghiogheny railroad, remaining there until 1899. After leaving the railroad he took up the hotel business, opening the Albion House, in Irwin. From 1861 he was a resident of Irwin, and in 1873 served as councilman of the borough. He was a Republican in politics, and although a member of no church, inclined toward the Methodist Episcopal denomination.
