General Notes: Husband - Benjamin Oswald

Soon after marriage he settled at Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, where he was editor and proprietor of The Chambersburg Whig, a weekly newspaper of that day. In 1838 he removed to the borough of Kittanning, Armstrong county, on the east bank of the Alleghany river, forty-five miles above Pittsburgh, where he established a weekly newspaper called The Union Free Press, which was still in existence eighty years later, being edited by his grandsons.
Three of his sons, John, Benjamin and Randolph, were soldiers in the civil war.
