General Notes: Husband - Ruel E. Mohnkern

He was reared and educated in Siverly, Venango County, PA, graduating from the Siverly high school in 1897. He served a thorough apprenticeship at ornamental woodworking, being engaged in that line for five years, and meanwhile adding to his acquirements by taking a correspondence course in mechanical engineering. In 1901 he entered the employ of the Oil Well Supply Company at Oil City as a draftsman, continuing for eight years in that capacity, during the last five years as chief draftsman. Then he was further promoted to assistant superintendent of the manufacturing department, in October, 1916, becoming superintendent of that department. He was interested in his community and all matters pertaining to the general welfare, and before the borough of Siverly was incorporated with Oil City became a member of the council, performing his duties faithfully and ably. He filled that position for five years, occupying it at the time the two boroughs were amalgamated. Fraternally he affiliated with the I. O. O. F., and his religious connection was with Bethel M. E. Church. [CAB, 1036]
