General Notes: Husband - Dr. Arthur Eugene Brown

He attended the local schools until he was seventeen years of age and then attended Fredonia Institute, Pennsylvania, for two years, but was graduated from the Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, with the medical class of 1901. He then spent one year in hospital work both indoor and at the fresh air camp of Cleveland, the latter conducted by Father Addison. He then returned to Greenville, Mercer County, PA, where he continued practice for five years. At the death of his parents in 1903, however, he removed to the old family homestead which had descended to him and after that time gave his entire attention to its conduct and improvement. His specialties were dairying and the making of maple sugar. He kept ten Jersey cows, and his dairy, though limited, was conducted scientifically. His sugar camp was one of the largest in the township and became so widely known that it gave a name to the homestead itself.
