General Notes: Husband - George Brown

He was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and remained there until he was about eighteen years of age. He then accompanied his father to Brownsville, New York, where he engaged in farming for about fifty-eight years. He took an active part in public affairs, and among other positions held that of supervisor of the town of Brownsville for many years. In 1860 he removed to Warren, Pennsylvania, where he died at the age of eighty-four years.
In his earlier days, he was a member of the Republican party, as opposed to the Federalists and believers in a strongly centralized government. During the period beginning with the second quarter of the 1800s, he became a determined anti-Mason.

He and his wife were the parents of nine children, four sons. Eight of the children attained years of maturity. Two sons and two daughters were still living as late as 1887.
