General Notes: Husband - Jeremiah H. Morford

He received a limited education in the log cabin schools and early learned the trade of a stone-mason. After marriage, he settled with his wife in a log cabin in Salem Township, Mercer County, PA, where they remained for twelve years. They then sold and bought land in West Salem, where they lived until 1881, when they moved to Greenville. He served as a justice of the peace in both West Salem and Hempfield Townships. He went out, at the time of Lee's invasion of Pennsylvania, in Company C, and was a member of the G. A. R. He was a Republican in politics. His wife was a Baptist.
