General Notes: Husband - Dr. Samuel Stanhope Neale

After receiving the usual education afforded by the excellent academy of his native town, he began the study of medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, studying under Dr. Physick as well as with the celebrated Dr. Benjamin Rush, and attended the course of lectures at the University of Pennsylvania. About the year 1814 he commenced the practice of medicine at Connellsville, Pennsylvania, removing about 1817 to locate in Kittanning. With the exception of a single interruption, a temporary residence in the city of Pittsburgh, where his son James was born, he continued in active practice in Kittanning until his death.
He was one of the organizers of St. Paul's Episcopal Church at Kittanning, and served as one of the vestrymen of the institution.
