General Notes: Husband - William Brown

He came to the Kishacoquillas valley in Pennsylvania about 1752, accompanied by his half-brother, James Reed. They are said to have been the first white settlers in the valley. which they thoroughly explored before choosing a location and fixing a permanent residence.

He held a commission as justice of the peace from the English crown. He later became Judge Brown, and his name was given to Brown township, in which James Reed took up government land with others.
