General Notes: Husband - Henry Brunermer

His parents were natives of Germany, from which country they immigrated to Canada in 1826. He was born in the Province of Ontario, Canada, about ten miles from Niagara Falls, in the year 1830. His parents subsequently moved to Beaver county, Pennsylvania, in 1839, and settled in Connoquenessing township, Butler county, in 1840, purchasing sixty-two acres of land, which they cleared and improved.

He was born in Forward Township, Butler County, PA. [TCHBC, 857]

He learned the carpenter's trade with James Gray, of Connoquenessing township, and followed it for forty-six years in connection with farming. Politically, he was a Republican, and served in several minor township offices. He and his family were members of White Oak Spring United Presbyterian congregation.

When eighteen years old he went to Canada and there learned the carpenter and millwright trades and when twenty-one he returned to Butler County, Pennsylvania, and spent the remainder of his life in this section. He was engaged in a contracting business for many years in partnership with Harrison Dyke, under the firm name of Dyke & Brunermer. In 1865 he bought a farm in Connoquenessing Township, of which his son George A. became manager. In politics a Republican, Mr. Brunermer was elected by his party to a number of local offices.
