General Notes: Husband - James Buchanan

He attended the subscription schools of his native township and at the age of twenty-one bought a farm on Porter run, Salem township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, on which he resided continuously for forty-seven years. In 1885 he removed to New Salem borough. He served twice as school director in his native district and was an elder in the Presbyterian church at Congruity.
