He was graduated at Franklin College, Ohio, in 1837, and was ordained by Monongahela Presbytery, November 3, 1842. He was pastor of Raccoon and Hanover, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, 1842-44, and of Mifflin, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, 1846-49.
