General Notes: Husband - Benjamin Pearson

He was the first of the Pearson family to come to America, arriving at Darby, Chester County, Pennsylvania, where he settled, about 1712. He and his wife had seven children, of whom Thomas was the third. The Pearsons, as also the Blunstons, were of the sect called Quakers and had been better educated than was usual with those emigrating to the New World. Benjamin Pearson was an austere man; he disliked this country and made no effort to acquire property therein; it is said of him that he would never admit that any of its products equalled those of England except turnips.

Notes: Marriage

It appears from the records that, having been approved by two meetings of Quakers, viz: Chesterfield and Warnsworth, Benjamin Pearson, who had removed from Tinsley to Rotherham, Yorkshire, England, was married to Susanna Burbeck of Chesterfield, County of Derby, England, on the 23d of September, 1703.
