Melville Burgwin Dies; Retired Oil Producer
FRANKLIN - Melville Burgwin, 85, of Kennerdell RD 1, retired oil producer, died at 4:06 a.m. Wednesday in Oil City Hospital, where he had been a patient since September 23.
A son of Edward and Margaret Schoch Burgwin, he was born December 29, 1884, at Coal City, Rockland Township. He had lived all his life in Rockland Township and attended the public school there.
Mr. Burgwin had been a pro­ducer for several area oil com­panies.
He attended the Pine Hill Church of God and had served on the board of the Melat Cemetery for several years and also served as sexton.
Surviving are a niece, Mrs. Wayne E. (Lucille) Wilson, Columbus, Ohio; and a nephew, Victor W. Bump, Cleveland, Ohio.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Mrs. Jams [sic] A. (Mable) Bump and Miss Valeria Burgwin.
Friends will be received after 10 a.m. Friday in the Frank S. Huff Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel at 1:30 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Merle C. Wonderling, pastor of the Seneca United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Melat Cemetery.

MELVILLE BURGWIN
Funeral services for Melville Burgwin, of Kennerdell RD 1, retired oil producer, who died early Wednesday morning in the Oil City Hospital, were con­ducted at 1:30 p. m. Saturday in the Frank S. Huff Chapel.
The Rev. Merle C. Wonderling, pastor of the Seneca United Methodist Church, offi­ciated and during the services read the poems, "Growing Old" and "Let Me Live in My House By the Side of the Road."
Interment was in Me1at Cemetery with the following as pallbearers: Evan F. McClelland, L. Waldo Bankson, Jack E. Bankson, Charles E. Berringer, H. Jack Stack, and Harry D. Schoch.
Among those in attendance from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Victor Bump, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Lucille Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood Waltman, Columbus, Ohio; Robert Bump, San Antonio, Tex.; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Waldman and family, Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Linn, Emlenton; Leonard Titus, Bradford.
