General Notes: Husband - Francis B. Laughlin

He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and there received his education at the public schools, after which he entered the employ of his father, and later became identified with him in all of his enterprises. Upon the death of his father the Stewardson Furnaces were merged into the F. B. & A. Laughlin Company, which was continued for several years. Subsequently F. B. Laughlin helped to organize and incorporate the Solar Carbon Company in Pittsburgh, and this was later merged into the National Carbon Company, when Mr. Laughlin retired from active business. He was one of the founders of the Point Breeze Presbyterian church and a member at the time of his death. Politically he was always a Republican.
