General Notes: Husband - James Gregg

He came west of the Alleghenies when quite a young man and engaged in the mercantile business at Adamsburg, Pennsylvania. In 1875 he was elected treasurer of Westmoreland County and subsequently was chosen justice of the peace at Greensburg, to which he had removed in the spring of 1876.

He was engaged in the mercantile business in Adamsburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, until 1876, when he became treasurer of the county. His schooling was confined to a term in Duff's Business College at Pittsburgh. In religion he espoused the Lutheran faith. He was "an old-fashioned, Simon-pure Democrat." He served as treasurer of Westmoreland County from 1876 to 1879, and as justice of the peace in Greensburg borough from 1881 to 1886; also as school director in Greensburg. [HWC 1906 II, 129]
