General Notes: Husband - William L. Byers

He was reared on the home farm, and educated in the public schools of his native township. At the age of sixteen he and his brother assumed the management of the farm, and he followed agricultural pursuits thereon up to the year 1890, when he removed into the town of Mount Pleasant. He was the owner of an excellent farm, which was highly improved and cultivated, and superintended operations on two other farms. He was also actively and successfully engaged in the stock business, shipping horses to market from the west. Mr. Byers was a Republican in politics, staunchly adhering to the principles of that party. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Rose Lodge, Ancient Order American Mechanics, also Americus Lodge.
