General Notes: Husband - [Father] Bylhymer

The ancestors of this family were natives of Germany, and the original spelling of the name was Bylhymer. The family belonged to Bavaria, near Friesberg, and were among the progressive element of that country, taking precedence both political and religious, and belonged to the reformers. The founders of the American branch of the family were Christian and Jacob Bylhymer, who emigrated from Wurtemberg in 1763, and settled in Northampton county, Pennsylvania, in the vicinity of Nazareth. Subsequent to their arrival in America the emigrant brothers changed the spelling of their name to Billhymer.
