General Notes: Husband - Milton Calhoon

He was educated in the early district schools of Greene township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. From comparative poverty, worked his way upward until, at the time of his death, he was a man of considerable wealth. During the summer months he engaged in farming, occupying the fall by towing keel boats, and in the winter was a teamster. He commenced with a small farm, to which he added from time to time, until he was possessed of three hundred and twenty-five acres at the time of his death. In later life he was also actively interested in sheep raising, and was successful in this undertaking. In political matters he cast his vote for the Republican party, and he was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Hookstown.
