General Notes: Husband - Alexander Calvert

The history of the Calvert family may be traced back to three brothers of the name, who fled from Scotland on account of political troubles, and settled in three different counties in the North of Ireland. The descendants of these brothers are scattered throughout the United States. The progenitor of the Beaver County, Pennsylvania, Calverts was Alexander, a native of County Down, Ireland. [HBC 1888, 833]

He [Richard] was born in the highlands of Scotland, where his two uncles fought under Sir William Wallace. After his defeat the family was banished and went to County Down, Ireland. [HBC 1888, 833]
