He came to Findley township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, and lived with his uncle, Rev. Samuel Tait, about 1822. Mr. Tait was then living on a farm just south of Mercer, having removed there from Cool Spring township, in order to be nearer the church at Mercer, over which he had charge.
