General Notes: Wife - Caroline Matilda Abrams

She was born in a house at the end of the iron bridge, at Brownsville, Pennsylvania, which was the first iron bridge in America. It was a brick house, with the basement kitchen entirely below the street. The house was built on a high stone wall next to Dunlap's Creek. There was a small yard which contained a damson plum tree. On muster days she climbed the tree to watch the soldiers parade by.
