General Notes: Husband - Orenzo Wayne Eagal

He attended school until he was fourteen years of age and then entered his father's mill and learned the business in the mill that he later owned. It was one of the landmarks of that section, the first mill on the site having been erected by William Bryson in 1828. When Eli D. Eagal purchased the mill it was operated with but three burrs and not many improvements were introduced until its next owner took charge. He installed modern machinery and a 35 horse-power engine, and his capacity was about twenty-five barrels of wheat flour and the same of buckwheat flour a day. He also did a large amount of business in grinding feed.
He and his family belonged to St. John's Reformed Church. In politics he was a Republican but the only township office he ever accepted has been that of school director.
