General Notes: Husband - William Campbell


He came to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, in 1803, when but six years of age, with his parents, and spent his boyhood days on the old homestead, farming in Mercer County all of his life. His farm home was situated eight miles to the southwest of Greenville, in Pymatuning township. He became one of the prominent men of his day and generation, having acted as county commissioner for two terms-six years. He was a justice of the peace for two terms or ten years. In politics, he was an old line Whig and later joined the Know-Nothing party and finally entered the ranks of the newly formed Republican party. He was a member of the Presbyterian church from early life.
He was born in a log house and his first six children were also born in the first house he built, which was also a log house.
He and his wife were the parents of eight children.
