General Notes: Husband - Thomas Canon, Esq.

Among the earliest settlers of Mercer County, Pennsylvania, were Thomas and Margaret (Heath) Canon, who came from Philadelphia, about 1796-97, and located in what is now Hickory Township.

He lived on the Shenango, halfway between Wheatland and Middlesex, on the farm later owned by Mrs. John Welch. He arrived in 1797, and was a justice of the peace for many years.
