He was in the ministry of the M. E. Church, having spent seventeen years in the Dakota Conference, served as presiding elder in Dakota, had charges at Brookville, Jefferson County, PA, and in Crawford and Erie counties, PA, and was later at Sheridan, NY; he often preached in Clintonville.
