General Notes: Husband - Capt. Archibald McAllister

He was a captain in the revolutionary war, and and at the age of twenty fought at Monmouth and Germantown. In 1785 he bought Fort Hunter, in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, and lived there the rest of his life, where three succeeding generations of his descendants lived and died, and their remains sleep in a private cemetery. He owned nearly a thousand acres of land in one tract, was wealthy, and while a practical farmer, yet devoted some time to fancy and theoretical farming. He was one of the three largest landholders in the eastern part of the State, and was a strict Presbyterian and a strong Jacksonian democrat.

He served in the revolutionary war under the direct command of Washington, from whom he afterward received many letters, which were kept in the family for many years.

He had six children with his second wife.
