Guilford Twp, Franklin Co, PA
He was, all his life, a farmer on the old Witherspoon homestead. He learned the carpenter's trade from his father. In 1843 he built a new dwelling house on the farm, and in 1866, he replaced the old log barn, built by his father, with a new structure. In politics he was a Whig and a Republican, but never held any office, except that of Justice of the Peace of Guilford township. For seventy years he was a member of Falling Spring Presbyterian Church.
