He was from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. He and his wife were farming people at Mechanicsville, Venango County, during their active years, spending their closing days at Barkeyville, where they died, both at the age of eighty-five years.

On-line: James and Rebecca Cassidy were born about 1822 and 1819 respectively. Had children Harriet, Sarah, John, F.J. (possibly Julia), Minerva (or Mary?) and Ada (or Margaret?). Censuses show them living in Irwin Twp., Venango Co.
