General Notes: Husband - James Chambers

At the age of eleven years he emigrated from Ireland to Amwell township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, with his parents, and two brothers who came with him died on the farm where J. W. would later live. James learned and fol-lowed the trade of carpenter in Washington bor-ough. He was a major in the militia, and more of a military man than a politician.
