General Notes: Husband - Paul McDermott

He was a native of Donegal county, Ireland, came to Pennsyl­vania, and settled in Westmoreland County, where he married. About 1796 they moved to Fairview township, Butler County, purchased 500 acres of land, erected a cabin near the site of Karns City, and commenced the life of pioneers. Both spent the remainder of their lives upon this property. They were the parents of seven children, five of whom grew up.
