He attended the public schools, afterwards entering Elder's Ridge Academy, and finishing his studies at the University of Michigan, where he was graduated in the class of 1907 with the degree of Bachelor of Laws. He was admitted to the bar the same year, and engaged in practice, doing a general law business in Kittanning, Pennsylvania. For years he was associated with, but not a partner of, H. A. Heilman. His practice extended to all the courts. Mr. Christy was a Republican in politics, and a member of the Republican State Committee of Pennsylvania. He took an active part in the Liberty Loan campaigns of the first World War. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; the Keystone Club, and the Chamber of Commerce. In religion he was a Presbyterian.
