General Notes: Husband - John Elmer Adams

His youth was spent on the homestead farm. He was reared in Mineral township, and received his early education in the public schools and academy at Franklin, Pennsylvania. In 1877 he engaged in the coal business in this city, and subsequently was appointed special agent for the Buffalo, New York and Philadelphia Railroad Company, filling that position three years. On the 31st of March, 1888, Mr. Adams was appointed by President Cleveland to the position of Postmaster of Franklin. Politically Mr. Adams is a stanch Democrat and strongly Methodistic in belief and practice. [HVC 1890, 820]

Cemetery records seem to indicate that he was buried June 19. One would hope, then, that either this is incorrect or the date of death given by the source is inaccurate.

General Notes: Wife - Susan Hollister

Residing in Franklin, Venango Co, PA, in 1919.
