General Notes: Husband - Robert C. Young

He received a very limited education, but worked at home on the farm and at making brooms. When twenty-three years old he came to Mansfield (now Carnegie), and started at the railroad business, being at first employed on a construction train and helping to lay the Chartiers branch of the Pan Handle. Later he became the assistant station agent at Carnegie, holding that position for nine years. In 1881 he went to McKeesport, where he was employed for a time in the National tube works; then returned to Carnegie, beginning as a brakeman on the P. C. & Y. R. R., and then taking charge of the baggage and mail car.
He and his wife were members of the United Presbyterian church, and Mr. Young was a teacher and worker in the Sabbath-school for many years. In politics he was a republican.
