General Notes: Husband - William Linn

He was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania, and came to West Newton, Westmoreland County, prior to 1800. At that place he owned the ground upon which the Presbyterian church later stood. He learned the trade of blacksmith, was drafted and served in the War of 1812 on the northwestern frontier where he became sick and was given up to die by the army physicians. He recovered and returned to Pittsburgh, where he worked at his trade and where he was offered eight acres of land, including the site of the Union depot for a very small sum of money. He was a democrat, a member of the Presbyterian church, and a stockholder and treasurer of the West Newton Bridge company. He owned considerable property and the farm on which his son, James, resided, and lived for many years at West Newton, where he died.

General Notes: Wife - Elizabeth Clark

Her father was a resident for many years of Sewickley township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he died.
