General Notes: Husband - Dr. Patrick Clark

After he had completed the preliminary courses of his education, he commenced the study of medicine under Dr. Gibson, of Jamestown, Mercer County, PA, being then about twenty-one years of age. His professional education was completed in the medical school of the University of Michigan, and upon his return to Jamestown he became the assistant of his former preceptor, thus continuing until the time of Dr. Gibson's death. In connection with his large practice he engaged in the drug business, under the firm name of William Gibson & Co., until Dr. Gibson's death, then P. Clark & Co., the enterprise developing into one of the leading houses of the kind in the place. Dr. Clark stood high as a physician and in all other capacities. He was an enterprising and progressive citizen, serving officially as a borough councilman and member of the school board. [HMC 1909, 827]
