General Notes: Husband - Robert Clark

He came to Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, from Greene County, as early as 1788, at which time he was the purchaser of a lot in town. He built the house which was later owned by the heirs of George Shuman and occupied as a telegraph-office. Its original site was where the Snowdon House was later located, but it was removed about 1823 to its second location by Mr. Clarke, who then built the Snowdon House on the spot thus vacated, and lived in it until his death. He was concerned with Neal Gillespie in the grist-mill and saw-mill on the river.
