General Notes: Husband - Samuel L. Clark

He was about ten years old when his people moved to Broome County, NY, and there he was reared and married. In June, 1836, he came to Mercer County, PA, and located in Deer Creek Township, where he purchased one hundred acres of timber land and devoted the after years of his life to clearing his land, farming and the performance of his public duties as a citizen. His politics bound him to the support of either the Whig or the Republican Party and as supervisor or other public official he served both his party and his fellows, irrespective of politics. He met his death as the result of injuries received from a yoke of oxen.
