General Notes: Husband - Jacob Kolb

In about 1800 they moved to Canada with several other families, namely, his brothers-in-law, Abraham Clemens and Jacob Clemens. They settled and took up land in what is now Waterloo county, Ontario, on the Grand river. They went into the wilderness about five miles from any settlement and began to clear away the timber and to build houses. They were very fortunate in their undertaking, and were blessed with this world's goods. The Grand Trunk railroad later ran through their district, and the city of Berlin is the principal town.

He was a Mennonite, and was for many years a deacon in the Mennonite church. They were by occupation farmers, and possessed fine farms. They died at an advanced age, all highly respected, and many of their descendants remained in that vicinity.
